Volunteers are an invaluable resource to our team because of the various roles they play. Each of them has a different story behind why they join our team to sew for others. Here, one of our volunteers, Leia, shares her experience.

“When I was a child, my mum taught me to be generous with others. She's always happy to lend a hand or help someone out if she can. It's from her that I've learned to be (or tried to be) a giving person. I am a passive person and didn’t know how I could offer help to those in need during this pandemic. I was happy to meet with the volunteers at Hong Kong Masks Australia.

Thank you so much for organizing everything so I can focus on making the masks. During this time of lockdown in Australia, my family and I are enjoying doing something meaningful. While I am busy with sewing, my daughter helps with the drawing, my husband helps me by purchasing mask-making materials and posting the masks. We are a team, and everyone has the chance to do some good. We are glad to have the opportunity to give some positive energy to someone in need. Let's band together and fight against this dangerous corona virus! ”
Thanks so much to Leia for her wonderful contribution in helping make these beautiful masks for us.
