Caterina in our team has a story to share:

Volunteering is an opportunity to give back.

“I heard about the “Hong Kong Masks volunteer campaign” from my friend and she invited me to join around one month ago. I thought it was a great idea that I was able to connect with other volunteers similar to me, and to be able to discuss the issues we face, and to share experiences and ideas. I felt like I could use my time and sewing skills, helping people during this tough time. I already had a sewing machine and some fabric on hand, so I started to make cotton masks and giving them to people in need.

As a volunteer, I want to make a perfect mask for others so I can continue to learn. What are the best materials to use? How to measure the masks patterns? How can I sew the masks in a better way? I went through the whole process twice and wanted to make sure I was making the masks perfectly. I loved the feedback I received from friends and people in need, regarding my masks. I feel satisfied, happy, respected and motivated to continue in my current role as a member of the sewing team.”

Thanks Caterina keeping sew for us. I am sure most volunteers think the same. Being able to give is a blessing.
